Our guides are made up of hunters, explorers, outdoor enthusiasts with deep hunting experience in and around the greater Columbia Basin habitat.

Each of our guides strives to make every single hunting or fishing trip booked with Eastern Washington Guides, a trip of a lifetime. We take clients to the same properties we hunt and honey holes we fish on private and public.

Our waterfowl guides are constantly scouting to inform adjustments to approaching guided client trips. Our fishing guides always have their hooks in the water and plugged into surrounding waterways they all turn on/off at different times of the year.

FAQs

What kind of shot opportunities should a client expect on a Goose or Duck hunt?

We have a friendly “No Sky Busting Zone” as a way to characterize the importance we place on getting close shot opportunities; it’s a more ethical shot and way more fun. Your expected shot distances typically range between 25-40 yards, sometimes closer. Three boxes of ammo should suffice.

If I’m only able to hunt or fish one weekend, when should I book?

That’s tough. We have quite a few weekends where the goose and duck hunting is unpredictable but at the same time, lights out. We recommend signing up for our Kamp Blast. We won’t spam you but will let you know better times to take advantage of active birds or fishing.

Do you accept new hunters as clients?

Yes! You bet we do! Per Washington State DFW, “All hunters born after Jan. 1, 1972, must show proof of hunter education course completion before purchasing their first Washington hunting license.” If required by your age and upon successful passing of the course, we’re ready to roll. Please indicate your new hunter status (or relatively new) in your online booking notes and be sure to let your guide know leading up to your hunt.

What sort of tipping & gratuity guidance can you give?

Gratuities/tips are not included in hunting trips or fishing trip prices. Gratuities show the guide how they performed, are greatly appreciated (Gratuities range from 15-20% of the total trip cost on average), and are typically handled during or after decoys are being packed up.

Do you accommodate for video production or film crews?

We sure do! Eastern Washington Guides have hosted a number of familiar outdoor television shows in our blinds let alone content creators for YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. The cost for each non-hunter is $100 per person. We also strongly recommend a pre-production call or two with your guide to plan out possible camera wells and to stay informed as weather and migration patterns evolve.

Why are your online prices less than paying in-person?

As part of a promotion launching a revamped website and online booking/scheduling capabilities. This means if you register, book and pay for your trip online you’ll get a predetermined discount approved by Aaron to encourage participation.

Those desiring to reserve by phone or email and pay in person will not realize the promotional discount.
